1st December 1999
Since I last wrote to you, two new tweenies have joined us. They
are Kerry and Francesca , and they will be enrolled on 8th December.
Saving Used Postage Stamps
As a pack we save used postage stamps and pass them on to a lady
in the church who sends them to The Leprosy Mission. The stamps,
(British and overseas), need to be left on the envelope and cut
around leaving a frame of approximately 0.5cm. With Christmas
approaching I hope that we will be able save a large amount for this
good cause.
Brownie Post Box - 1st, 8th and 15th December
For these three meetings we will be having our 'Christmas Post
Box' in the hall for any Brownies that wish to send cards to each
other. Deliveries will take place at our final meeting before
Christmas (and at our Christmas Party) on December 15th.
Brownie Christmas Party - Wednesday 15th December
We will have a traditional Christmas Party with games, music,
dancing and party food. The Brownies will not have to wear uniform
and they can wear their best party outfits (or anything that they
want to!)
We will not collect subs for this week but could each Brownie
please bring £1 to cover the cost of party food and drink.
Gift Service - Sunday 12th December
Our last Church Parade before Christmas will be here at Wallington
Methodist Church attending the Gift Service. If you could send in an
outgrown toy or children's book in good condition (it is not
necessary to wrap the gift), it would be greatly appreciated but
please do not worry if you cannot. All of the toys are distributed to
needy children in the area.
We will meet at 10.10am inside the church at the back and the
Brownies should be collected from inside the church at 11.30am. Smart
uniform is required with sashes, tidy shoes, socks and hair!
Attending church together is a very important part of Brownie life
and I would hope that every Brownie would make an effort to attend.
Carols By Candlelight - Sunday 19th December
All of the Brownies are invited to the Candlelight Service. The
girls should wear smart uniform as usual. We will meet inside the
church at the back at 6.15pm. After the service there will be coffee,
squash and Mince Pies at the back of the church. The girls can be
collected from there at about 7.30pm.
Do stay for the service if you can - it is always a beautiful
service.
